COMPACTOR is an interconnected set of mostly obsolete machinery that is manipulated by an anonymous figure known as The Worker under orders from a faceless corporation. The noises of the machinery form a soundtrack of glitchy, frequently rhythmic industrial noise. Subject matter often deals with work, technology, and dehumanization.

DIGITAL FORENSICS is a branch of forensic science encompassing the recovery and investigation of material found in digital devices.

COMPACTOR began operating in late 2011. Several digital work documents surfaced immediately, but eventually disappeared from the internet. They have finally been recovered from backup drives and tweaked slightly for this collection.

As Digital Forensics can include files on formats considered to be largely obsolete, but simply need the right equipment for access, releasing on minidisc in 2020 seemed appropriate.
